The horizontal ammo racks came from the spares box. The antenna base is a resin casting I made from a Tamiya master many years ago. The crew seats, gun travel locks and gun pedestal were added as per kit instructions. Unfortunately, there is just not enough information on this area to embellish the detail further. Basic hull construction. The hull of the Marder II Ausf. D is very boxy, typical of Marders. The armour plates are commendably thin in the Alan Hobbies kit. Note the brown ModelKasten wheels.

I added a small grab handle to the rear plate, and three small tie-down loops to each upper hull side armour. These etched tie downs were sourced from a leftover Aber set. Painting I’ve only ever come across a handful of pictures of Marder Is in service, and fewer still in use in Normandy. The few I have seen show them sporting a soft mottled camouflage scheme of green and brown over a dark yellow base coat. To kick this off I misted on three light coats of the same paint mix I used on the interior.
